Key Benefits
3X rewards: You earn 3 points on the first $150,000 in combined purchases on travel, shipping, internet, cable, phone service, advertising purchases made with social media and search engine websites. This makes the card an awesome card for Amazon Sellers as you earn 3 points on PPC marketing!
Cell phone protection: The card has cell phone protection for up to $1,000 per claim (with a $100 deductible) if your cell phone breaks or gets stolen. In order to activate coverage, you need to pay your monthly cell phone bill with your card. This makes this the perfect card to pay your cell phone bill because besides the cell phone protection you will also be getting 3 points on cell phone bills.
Extra redemption value: Your points are worth 25% more when redeemed for travel through the Chase travel portal (you can transfer other Chase points to this card and also get the 25% bonus. More details about this below).
Many more travel benefits: The card comes along with many more travel benefits including no foreign transaction fees, auto rental collision insurance, travel accident Insurance, lost luggage insurance, trip cancellation insurance, trip delay insurance, baggage delay insurance, and more.
Here are answers to many commonly asked questions.
Is this card under the 5/24 rule?
Some people, including myself, were able to get approved even when being above the 5/24 rule. But others are getting declined. It seems like the rule is waived for some people but not for everyone.
What's the Chase 5/24 rule?
The rule basically means that anyone who has opened 5 or more personal credit cards within the past 24 months, cannot get approved for any Chase credit card.
Are all cards counted towards the 5 cards or only Chase cards?
Any personal credit card from any bank that was opened in the last 24 months will count towards the 5/24 rule. It does not make a difference if the card is still open or is already closed.
Are business cards counted towards the 5 cards?
Only personal cards count towards the 5 cards, not business cards (including Chase business cards).
Are authorized users counted towards the 5/24 rule?
Authorized users do not count towards the 5/24 rule, but you may need to call the reconsideration department (phone number: 1800-453-9719) in order to get approved since the computer approval system sometimes does not pick up the difference between an individual account and an authorized user account.
How quickly can I get my card once I'm approved?
You can request Chase to overnight your physical card by calling Chase credit card customer service at 1-800-945-2028.
Can I get the card even if I already got the other Ink cards?
Yes. Each Ink card card is its own product and you are eligible for each one separately.
Can I get the same Ink card again?
The rule used to be that the same person applying for the same business can get the Ink bonus only once in 24 months (not an official rule, but in real life this used to be 90% true). But right now, with the easier approvals, many people are able to get the same card again even way before 24 months and even on the same business.
The same person can get the same Ink card on a different business at any time.
A different person can get the same Ink card on the same business at any time.
Can my spouse apply for the same card as me for the same business even if she/he is an authorized user on my card?
Yes.
Do I need a business to apply?
Yes. But almost everyone has some type of business that is eligible. For example, if you tutor kids then that can be considered a tutoring business. You do not need an LLC or corporation. You can apply as a sole proprietorship using your social as the tax ID. More details and a step-by-step guide can be found here.
If my application is pending what do I do?
Even if your application is pending then it still has a very high chance of getting approved. I recommend waiting and letting it process naturally through the system (it usually doesn’t take more than a few days). You will usually get an email once approved.
But If you choose not to wait and would rather rush it, then call Chase Underwriting Department and ask them to review the application on the spot. The number is 1-888-609-7805 and press 0 for a representative.
If I get declined what should I do?
Thankfully, Chase has a very friendly reconsideration department that can be reached at 1-888-609-7805. In most cases, the underwriter you speak to has the power to recommend an approval or denial. You can very likely convince the underwriter to approve your application even after getting declined.

Do I need a Chase business checking account to get approved?
No. But having one will result in a higher chance of approval, especially if you’re looking to get a high credit limit.
What's the minimum credit score I need to get approved?
There is no official number. But in general, I only see approvals if you have your own credit card for a minimum of 12 months and your credit score is 700 plus. Overall, approvals are now easier than ever before.
What's the annual fee?
The annual fee is $95.
Can I downgrade the card to a no annual fee card?
After the first year (if you choose) you can downgrade the card to a no-annual fee card.
- card_name $(0)
- card_name ($0)
Because this is a business card, you can also at any time choose to close the card without it affecting your credit score.
How can I spend $8,000 in three months?
If your budget does not allow you to spend the needed minimum amount to achieve the welcome bonus within the required time frame, then consider prepaying some of your expenses so you’ll get charged now, but you’ll be left with a credit to use in the future.
Some expenses that you might be able to prepay:
- Groceries
- Pay towards your kids’ tuition or college
- Buy gas gift cards
- Add credit to your E-ZPASS account
- Add money to your Amazon or Walmart wallet
- Utility bills like water, electricity, natural gas, sewer, or trash
You can also pay taxes with a credit card, and there are many more ideas you can read in this post.
