One of the most requested features that users submitted was for us to add a forum. Over the years we’ve successfully collected thousands of users who include some of the smartest minds in the credit and credit card industry. With an HMBC forum, users can interact with each other, ask each other questions, and learn from each other.
I always very much supported the idea and was always thinking of ways to bring this to fruition.
With the new communities in WhatsApp, an HMBC forum finally happened!
WhatsApp Communities allows you to create a forum-style dashboard with many sub-groups where users can message each other on different topics right in their WhatsApp app (the most popular messaging app in the world and especially among our users).
WhatsApp is a very seamless way for users to message each other and answer each other’s questions on the many topics that are covered within our forum.
The groups (threads)
To start, we added the following groups to the WhatsApp HMBC Forum.
We plan to add more upon user requests.
Capped at two thousand members
The big drawback of creating the forum on WhatsApp is that currently, WhatsApp caps community members at two thousand members and only one thousand members for each group. Space is limited but I think it’s big enough to create a really helpful community. I think it is the perfect balance for the forum not to be too big (so people feel comfortable releasing private hacks and info) but also not too small (where there are not enough members to help each other).
And if needed, we might create a second and third community as well and each community will hopefully have enough members to keep it active and helpful.
