You’ll be chasing holiday deals this season but as your pockets open, sure you are maximizing rewards on your credit card spending. At Help Me Build Credit, we search the internet and choose the best credit cards that earn the maximum rewards for each category. Prepare properly and shop like a pro!
Travel
If you’re going to be traveling this holiday season, the Citi Prestige card will get you 5 points on every dollar spent on air travel and restaurants. The card does have a $450 annual fee, but it is very possible that after reviewing the benefits, (for example, $250 travel credit and Priority pass lounge access) you will decide that the $450 annual fee is worth it.
Plus, the Citi Prestige comes with a welcome bonus of 50,000 points after you spend $4,000 within the first 3 month
Shopping
Why earn 1% cashback, when several credit cards are earning 2% cashback on all purchases?
Try a card like the Citi Double Cash or Amex Blue Business card. Both of these cards do not have annual fees and will get you 2% cashback no matter where you shop. You can also view more 2% cashback cards here.
Groceries
My favorite card for grocery shopping is the Amex Blue Cash Preferred. With this card, you will earn 6% cashback on grocery purchases on up to $6,000 a year. The card has a $95 annual fee, but if you’re able to max out the $6,000 then that will by far beat the annual fee.
The Blue Cash Preferred has a $250 welcome bonus after you spend $1,000 within the first 3 months.
Electronics
Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals are hot! It’s the perfect time of year to buy gifts and new electronics. If you plan on spending money in office supplies stores like Staples, Office Depot, etc., then look into the Chase Ink Cash card. The Chase Ink Cash card earns 5% cashback on every dollar spent in office supplies stores, up to $25,000 annually. The Chase Ink Cash card does not have an annual fee.
Plus, the Chase Ink Cash card now has a 50,000 points welcome bonus after you spend $3,000 with in the first 3 months.
End Note
At Help Me Build Credit you will learn how to shop savvy and earn savvy!
Happy Holidays!
