I needed a new wallet to hold my credit cards but before buying one, I decided to do some research.
I turned to our followers and readers and asked them to send in suggestions for credit card wallets. I ended up buying 7 different wallets to try each one out and determine which one is best. Here are my reviews and results.
First, these are the requirements the wallet needed to meet:
- I wanted a slim wallet which would not take up valuable real estate in my pocket
- It needed to easily hold over 10 credit cards
- It needed to be easy to pull out a credit card (so I wouldn’t hold up the grocery line)
1. NOMATIC Slim Minimalist Wallet
The NOMATIC Slim Minimalist Wallet made it to the top of my list. It’s the one I like best because it meets all requirements. The wallet is super slim and neat. It easily holds 10-15 cards and the cards are easy to get out by tugging at the leather tab, which brings the credit cards up.
Another thing that’s great about the Nomatic wallet is that you can split up your cards between two compartments. In one, you can fit the 4 cards you use most and pull them out at a whim. Your other cards are in the second compartment and accessible when you need them.
The only big con about this wallet is that it does not include a money clip for cash so this wallet will only work for credit cards, not cash. I personally have a second wallet for my cash so this was not a problem for me but if you are looking for a single wallet to keep your cash and cards in, this may not be an option for you.
Other options
Here are some other great options I tried out. One of these may work for you.
2. Modern Carry Elastic Minimal Card Holder Stretchy Slim Credit Card Wallet
Wallet review: The Stretchy Slim Credit Card Wallet is second on my list of likes. It’s a simple, stretchable material sleeve to hold your credit cards. There’s nothing fancy to it but it looks slim and neat and it keeps your cards in place. Just please note that this wallet can only hold credit cards, no cash. So if you’re looking for a wallet for both cash and credit cards, this sleeve will not work.
3. I-CLIP Wallet
Wallet review: The I-CLIP wallet is a modern, slim wallet which includes a clip inside that you can use for both credit cards and cash. It has a nice leather top which you can open and close to look like a case. This wallet does not work for me since the cards don’t easily slide up and down, especially when it holds 10 or more cards.
4. Porta Carte Montblanc
The Porta Carte Montblanc is an expensive, luxury, slim credit card wallet. The wallet is a brand name wallet from Montblanc. It is made from 100% cowhide leather and conveniently holds 6-10 credit cards. There also is a pocket for your cash.
5. Metal Wallet With Money Clip
Wallet review: The Metal Wallet With Money Clip sells for a decent price and is great that it includes a money clip. This wallet is a bit too heavy for me, though. I was also afraid that the metal would rip my pocket (I keep my wallet in my back pocket. Please keep this quiet).
The wallet is also too small for all my credit cards, though Amazon descriptions say the wallet should hold 10 plus cards.
6. Zhoma RFID Blocking Genuine Leather Credit Card Case Holder Security Travel Wallet
Wallet review: The Zhoma Credit Card Case is bulkier than the other wallet options here. It’s also a bit old-fashioned looking. But it’s great if you’re looking for a simple wallet that can hold your credit cards, cash, and change.
You can fit up to 20 credit cards, plus it also offers RFID technology that will protect your credit cards from fraudulent RFID readers from accessing your cards from your wallet in your pocket.
7. Leather Card Holder Wallet Pop Up
Wallet review: The Leather Card Holder Wallet Pop Up has a slider you can push up to pop your credit cards out. Then it’s easy to pull out the card you want to use. This would make a great wallet if it would work, but when I tried it, it mostly did not work properly.
Also, it doesn’t hold enough of my credit cards. I also found this wallet to be a drop more bulky than the other ones. The price is pretty steep as well.
