When I was 20 years old, I was once in a Chase bank branch and saw there an ad which stated: You can get 50,000 bonus points for signing up and spending $3,000 on the Chase Sapphire Preferred credit card (I think that was the offer at that time). It was very tempting to me, I applied and got approved. Once I earned the miles, I sold them to my friend who is a travel agent for $750. To make a long story short I was hooked. From there I went and applied for my wife and myself for almost every credit card which offered a bonus. We both together already earned a lot of free vocations and a ton of cash!
Later on when I was ready to purchase a home, I used the credit card game again. I pulled out over 75k cash from my credit cards, all on 0% APR balance transfers. I purchased a home and later refinanced it and paid back the credit card balances.
What You Do for Yourself You Do For Others
It is very often that I get phone calls from my friends and family asking me to help them plan out a new free vacation, or just how to earn some extra cash for a rainy day. This all can be done with the magic of credit cards.
I recently helped a friend of mine who had over $50,000 in credit card balances and he was paying interest close to $10,000 a year. He now balance transferred all the balances to credit cards that have a promo 0% APR for up to 15 months. The plan is that he will balance transfer them again in 15 months to his spouse’s credit cards for another 15 months’ interest fee. He will keep on doing this until all his balances are paid up! This is saving him thousands of dollars a year.
