Updated: Master List Of COVID Benefit Changes To Amex, Chase, Capital One, And Citi Credit Cards.

Credit card issuers are giving a mini-stimulus package to many of its cardholders. Benefits include statement credits, added benefits, annual fee credits, and more. Credit card issuers are making these changes in order to make their premium cards worthwhile even in an environment where no one is traveling.

Here’s what’s changing.

Amex Cards

 

Platinum Consumer

  • Cardholders will receive up to $20 per month, from 05/01/20 through 12/31/20 a total of $320 in statement credits on select streaming and wireless telephone services purchased directly from U.S. service providers, (streaming credit can possibly be used for Amazon gift cards, here is how).
  • You will receive a $200 Amex travel credit after your membership renewal (annual fee $550) between 04/01/20 -03/31/21. As per DOC, the credit will be valid for 18 months for any Amex Travel purchases, YMMV.

 

Platinum Business

  • Cardholders will receive up to $20 per month, from 05/01/20 through 12/31/20 a total of $320 in statement credits on wireless telephone services purchased directly from U.S. service providers and U.S. purchases for shipping (can be used to buy free stamps at USPS).
  • Up to $200 in additional statement credits for U.S. purchases with Dell. That is beside the $200 existing credits. You will receive $100 additional statement credits from May 1 through June 30, 2020, and another additional $100 statement credits between July 1 and December 31, 2020.
  • You will receive a $200 annual fee credit after your membership renewal (annual fee $595) between 05/01/20 -12/31/20 YMMV.

 

Green Consumer

  • Cardholders will receive up to $10 per month, from 05/01/20 through 12/31/20 a total of $80 in statement credits on wireless telephone services purchased directly from U.S. service providers.

 

Delta SkyMiles Gold

  • Card members will earn $100 credit for Delta flights, expiration extended to 11/31/2021. Eligible for card members with benefits issued 01/01/2020 – 11/30/2020.

 

Delta SkyMiles Platinum Consumer

  •  Cardholders will get a $50 annual fee credit after your membership renewal (annual fee $250) between 05/01/20 -12/31/20, YMMV.
  •  Cardholders will receive an extension to book and travel using their unused Companion Certificates, extended to 12/31/2021. Eligible for card members with benefits issued 01/01/2020 – 11/30/2020.

 

Delta Platinum Business cards

  •  Will receive a $100 annual fee credit after your membership renewal (annual fee $250) between 05/01/20 -12/31/20, YMMV.
  • Cardholders will receive an extension to book and travel using their unused Companion Certificates, extended to 12/31/2021. Eligible for card members with benefits issued 01/01/2020 – 11/30/2020.

     

Delta Reserve Business

  •  Cardholders will receive a $125 annual fee credit after your membership renewal (annual fee $550) between 05/01/20 -12/31/20, YMMV.
  •  Cardholders will receive an extension to book and travel using their unused Companion Certificates, extended to 12/31/2021. Eligible for card members with benefits issued 01/01/2020 – 11/30/2020.

     

Delta Reserve Consumer

  • Cardholders will receive a $125 annual fee credit after your membership renewal (annual fee $550) between 05/01/20 -12/31/20, YMMV.
  • Cardholders will receive an extension to book and travel using their unused Companion Certificates, extended to 12/31/2021. Eligible for card members with benefits issued 01/01/2020 – 11/30/2020.
  • Cardholders will receive an extension date for their unused Delta Sky Club guest passes, extended to 12/31/2021. Eligible for card members with benefits issued 01/01/2020 – 11/30/2020.

 

Marriott Cards

  • Marriott Bonvoy Business cardholders will receive a $50 annual fee credit after your membership renewal (annual fee $125) between 05/01/20 -12/31/20, YMMV
  • Hilton Honors Business cardholders will receive a $50 annual fee credit after your membership renewal (annual fee $95) between 05/01/20 -12/31/20, YMMV.

 


 

Chase Cards

 

Chase Sapphire Preferred Card

  • New! You can use your Ultimate rewards points at a rate of 1.25 cents per point to refund any dining, grocery, or home improvement purchases (works on gift cards bought in HomeDepot, etc) Click here to redeem the points for eligible purchases, exp 04/30/21.
  • Bonus Points On Grocery Spent: Earn 3 points per dollar on Instacart groceries on up to $3,000 from 07/01/20- 09/30/20 
  • Bonus Points On Gas Spent: Earn 3 points per dollar on gas on up to $1,500 from 07/01/20- 09/30/20 
  • Bonus Points On Select Streaming Spent: Earn 3 points per dollar on select streaming services on up to $1,500 from 07/01/20- 09/30/20 

Chase Sapphire Reserve

  • New! You can use your Ultimate rewards points at a rate of 1.50 cents per point to refund any dining, grocery, or home improvement purchases (works on gift cards bought in HomeDepot, etc) Click here to redeem the points for eligible purchases, exp 04/30/21.
  • Annual Fee: The fee will be deducted starting 07/01/20 – 12/31/20 back to $450. Cards renewing between 04/01/20- 07/01/20 will receive a $100 statement credit.
  • Bonus Points On Grocery Spent: Earn 5 points per dollar on Instacart groceries on up to $3,000 from 07/01/20- 09/30/20 
  • Bonus Points On Gas Spent: Earn 5 points per dollar on gas on up to $1,500 from 07/01/20- 09/30/20 
  • Bonus Points On Select Streaming Spent: Earn 10 points per dollar on select streaming services on up to $1,500 from 07/01/20- 09/30/20 
  • $300 Travel Credit: You can use the travel credit for gas and grocery purchases starting 06/01/20 – 12/31/20

Chase Ink Preferred

  • New! You can use your Ultimate rewards points at a rate of 1.25 cents per point to refund purchases from online advertising and shipping Click here to redeem the points for eligible purchases, exp 12/31/20

United Cards

  • United Club Infinite you can now pay the annual fee using miles at 1.5 cents per mile on the ($525),  
  • United Explorer you can now pay the annual fee using miles at 1.5 cents per mile on the ($95),  
  • United Business you can now pay the annual fee using miles at 1.5 cents per mile on the ($99).

 


Capital One

Venture Cards

  • Venture and Venture One You can now redeem points at 1.0 cents per point for eligible restaurant, takeout delivery, and streaming purchases (expires 12/31/20).
  • Earn 5 points per $1 spent on UberEats. Excludes orders paid for with PayPal, mobile or wireless card readers, mobile or digital wallets, Apple Pay, Android Pay and similar.(expires 01/31/21).

Spark Miles Business

  • Spark Miles and Spark Miles Select  You can now earn 1.0 cents in cashback  per point spent at eligible restaurant, including takeout and delivery, and on purchases made from eligible wireless phone service providers, such as Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile, on categories including mobile phone bills, payments, and purchases. (Expires 12/31/20).

Savor Cards

  • Earn 5 points per $1 spent on UberEats. Excludes orders paid for with PayPal, mobile or wireless card readers, mobile or digital wallets, Apple Pay, Android Pay and similar.(expires 01/31/21).
  • Savor Earn 4 points spent on streaming services (expires 09/30/20).
  • SavorOne Earn 3 points spent on streaming services (expires 09/30/20).

 


 

Citi Cards

Citi Prestige

  • $250 Travel Credit: You can use the travel credit for restaurants and grocery purchases now till 12/31/20.

Citi Premier

  • Earn 3 point on grocery and restaurant purchases
