2021 Update: Master List Of COVID Benefit Changes To Amex, Chase, Capital One, And Citi Credit Cards

Credit card issuers are giving a mini-stimulus package to many of its cardholders. Benefits include statement credits, added benefits, annual fee credits, and more. Credit card issuers are making these changes in order to make their premium cards worthwhile even in an environment where no one is traveling. Here’s what’s changing.

Amex Cards

Platinum Consumer

  • PayPal Credit: Receive a monthly $30 statement credit for PayPal purchases 01/01/21-06/30/21
  • UberEats Pass: Cardholders will receive an Eats pass, free for 1 year, valid through December 2021
  • $50 Statement Credit: Receive a $50 statement credit after spending $50 at many retailers including Home Depot, BestBuy, HomeChef, and more. Can be used up to two times. Enroll at Amex offers. Only eligible for Platinum accounts that had the card before November 1, 2020
  • Starting 01/10/21, Receive a complimentary night or a $150 credit or more, after you book through Amex Travel for an eligible stay at participating Hotel Collection Properties. Terms apply.
  • Starting 01/10/21, Receive a complimentary night or a $250 credit or more after you book through Amex Travel for an eligible stay at participating Fine Hotels and Resorts. Terms apply.
  • Starting 01/10/21, Receive up to 20% discounts on select routes, fares, and seats, with participating airlines, booked 01/10/21-03/31/21. for travel valid through 05/31/21. Terms apply.

Platinum Business

  • Pay Yourself Back: You can use your Ultimate rewards points at a rate of 1.25 cents per point to refund any dining, grocery, or home improvement purchases (works on gift cards bought in HomeDepot, etc) Click here to redeem the points for eligible purchases, exp 04/30/21.
  • Bonus Points On Grocery Spent: Earn 2 points per dollar on groceries on up to $1,000 per month from 1/01/20- 04/30/2021.

Spark Miles Business

  • Spark Miles and Spark Miles Select Due to Covid-19, Capital One now offers points to be valued at 1.0 cents each to offset purchases at eligible restaurants, including takeout and delivery, and on purchases made from eligible wireless phone service providers, such as Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile. (Expires 04/30/2021).
