This time of the year is the best time to get an Amex Platinum Business card as you can triple dip the annual credit while only paying the annual fee once.
Here is how
Once the annual fee is charged to your card, you have 30 days from when the next billing cycle ends to cancel the card, and not have to pay the annual fee.
This makes the beginning of December the best time of the year to apply for a Platinum card.
Applicants that apply now can earn a total of $600 in airline incidental fee credits, while only paying the annual fee once.
Here is how:
- Earn $200 from now till January 2022.
- Earn $200 from January 2022 till January 2023.
- Mid-December (2022), you will be charged the second annual fee
- Collect $200 in January 2023.
- Cancel the card mid-January (2023) to avoid paying the second annual fee!
Because you have 30 days (after you’re billed) to cancel the card, you can still collect $200 in January 2023.
The same thing will be true with the $400 Dell credit. If you apply today for the Amex Platinum Business card you can maximize a total of $800 worth of Dell credits while only paying the annual fee once!
Here is how
- Earn $200 from today till the end of December 2021
- Earn $200 from January till June 2022
- Collect $200 from June till the end of December 2022
- Final $200 in January 2023, before you cancel the card.
On an interesting note, the same seems to go for the $179 Clear credit. The credit is per calendar year. If you apply today for the Amex Platinum Business card you can maximize a total of $537 worth of Clear credits, triple dipped.
Here is how
- $179 from now till the end of December 2021
