Find Out Which Cards Still Have Balance Transfers

- Jun 28, 2020 Covid-19, Credit Card Info0 comments

0% APR balance transfers impacted by Covid-19

Update 07/18/22: American Express added 0% APR balance transfers to one card. See below for details.

American Express, Chase, and Capital One, have completely removed 0% APR balance transfers. 0% APR on balance transfers would allow one too transfer an existing balance to a card which does not charge interest on balances. That allows the card holder to pay up their balance at a slower pace without having to pay interest. With Covid-19 still around, the banks have their own balances adding up and do not want to deal with other’s balances too. Some banks have therefore stopped these offers.

Where you can still receive balance transfer 0% APR

There still are some cards with intro 0% APR balances transfers. Here’s a complete list:

Amex

Bank of America

Barclays

Citi

Citizen

Discover

Others

US Bank

Wells Fargo

We would advise you to grab a offer (if needed) while they still last

Frequently asked questions
Are there any cards that don’t have a balance transfer fee and 0% APR?
There are currently no cards that I am aware of that have 0% APR plus no balance transfer fee
When a credit card issuer gets a balance transfer payment do they look at it as a hardship for not making a payment with regular funds?
I have never seen that to be the case
Is the $15k limit for Chase balance transfer checks per check or per account?
It's per check
When you transfer a balance do you lose the points you accumulated making those purchases?
No
Can I balance transfer from business credit cards to personal?
Yes. But keep in mind that your credit score can temporarily be hit due to the balance showing up on your personal credit report
Which card has zero balance transfer fees?
There is one card I know about. The Union Bank Platinum Visa card. I don't have much data regarding their approvals
When I sign up for a credit card and they ask me if I want to do a balance transfer, should I say yes or no?
My recommendation regarding these things is the less you talk the better. If anything is optional then just leave it blank
If I close my Citi card and I have a balance from a balance transfer offer for 0% APR, will it expire when I close the card?
No. You can continue making payments on the same payment terms
How do I make a balance transfer?
Call the new card and give them the amount you want to transfer, and the account number of the old card (the card that currently has the balance). The new card will take care of the rest. After about 10 days you will see the balance appear on your new card and disappear from the old one
I just opened a Chase credit card with 0% APR for 15 months. I wanted to transfer a balance from another Chase credit card but they said I can't transfer from another Chase card!!?
You can never transfer balances from one card to the next within the same bank
