Now Live! Great New Rewards And Benefits Added To The Chase Sapphire Preferred and Reserve Cards

- Aug 17, 2021 Credit Card Info0 comments

Everyone’s favorite cards just got even better! Chase is going all out to make the Chase Sapphire Preferred and Chase Sapphire Reserve cards a no brainer.

The new changes are filling in for everything that the cards were missing; better rewards and a hotel credit on the Chase Sapphire Preferred.

Here are the details.

Changes to the Chase Sapphire Preferred

Rewards:

Chase has added more categories to earn a whole lot of extra rewards.

  • 5 points on travel booked through Chase travel
  • 3 points on dining, streaming services, and online grocery excluding Target, Walmart, and wholesale clubs
  • 2 points on all other travel
  • 1 point on all other purchases

Benefits:

Here are some awesome new credits and benefits!

  • Get a $50 annual hotel credit each cardmember year. The hotel booking must be made through the Chase Travel Portal. (Existing Chase cardholders will get the $50 credit on their upcoming anniversary year.)
  • Get 10% anniversary bonus points when you renew your card. Chase confirmed to us that the 10% will not be based on points you earn, only on what you spend.
For example: If you earned 130,000 points within a cardmember year through the following breakdown:
    – 100,000 points through a welcome bonus
    – 5,000 points through spending $1,000 for Chase travel
    – 9,000 points through spending $3,000 on online groceries
-16,000 points through spending $16,000 on all other purchases

Total amount you spent = $20,000
Total amount of points earned = 138,000
Total amount of anniversary bonus points you will earn = 2,000 points (not 13,800)

Changes to the Chase Sapphire Reserve

  • 10 points on Chase dining, hotels and car rentals booked through the Chase Travel Portal.
  • 5 points on airline tickets booked through the Chase Travel Portal
  • 3 points on all other dining and travel
  • 1 point on all other purchases
Frequently asked questions
How long do I have to dispute transactions on a Chase Sapphire Card?
Depends on the reason of dispute. If the reason of dispute is fraudulent charges you have 120 days. If the reason is “good or service not received” then you have 540 days
If I swipe my Chase card and pay it right away, will I still earn points and will it still count to the welcome bonus?
Yes, anything you spend on a card earns rewards and counts towards the welcome bonus, no matter when you pay it
